Services Offered:

Whether a new building or an historical renovation, our mechanical design team utilizes multiple tools to analyze and design mechanical systems best suited for each individual project. Analysis includes performance characteristics and maintenance requirements for equipment of various manufacturers. The team applies the core principles of mechanical engineering design to develop and detail mechanical systems for commercial applications, manufacturing plants, and industrial equipment and machinery. Highly detailed engineering drawings and project specifications for heating, ventilating and air-conditioning systems, as well as other mechanical systems, are prepared by the MCA team to ensure successful execution by the contractor.

The design services offered by MCA’s electrical team cover both the commercial and industrial sectors, and range from electrical distribution (both normal and emergency) to communications, life-safety and automation infrastructure. MCA provides services for total coordination of electrical and low voltage infrastructure design for new, as well as modernization projects. We have experience in a wide range of facility types, including industrial facilities, medical facilities, residential facilities, retail facilities, educational facilities, aviation facilities and hospitality/recreational facilities.

Our plumbing design team has the primary responsibility for design of domestic water and sanitary sewer systems, as well as other systems such as natural gas and medical gas distribution systems and pneumatic systems. These types of systems overlap into the architectural, mechanical, civil, and other design disciplines, and therefore, the MCA team coordinates closely with the design efforts of design teams of these other disciplines. The MCA team is trained and experienced in all aspects of plumbing design, including the hydraulics of gravity flow and pressure flow, storm water control, pneumatics, pump design and selection, heat transfer, and requirements of fire suppression systems.

Electrical engineering projects undertaken by MCA’s electrical team often include electronic engineering. Electronic engineering typically deals with small-scale electronic systems that use electricity to transmit information. Systems of this type in which MCA has expertise include security and access control systems, telephone and data systems, nurse call systems and public address systems.

Fire Protection

MCA’s engineering staff has the necessary expertise to design systems that provide various levels of fire protection for all types of facilities, based upon building code and insurance requirements, as well as best practices and owner requirements. Among the systems that MCA has successfully engineered are wet and dry type sprinkler systems, water deluge systems, foam suppression systems, dry-type chemical suppression systems, and fire alarm systems. MCA engineering design for suppression systems also includes design of fire water storage and pumping systems.
